Jon had even asked him what he thought Sam looked like. He'd had to admit that he hadn't really thought about it. That's when Jon had launched off into what he thought on the subject. The front man already had a detailed picture in his head of what this woman looked like. Hell, the sick bastard had even said, out loud mind you, "Oh, I wonder if she wears thigh highs and stiletto heels with those tight little business suits."
Richie had been absolutely sure that if he'd heard the woman's name one more time he would've barfed, all over the idiot.
Maybe Romeo was a pretty good nickname for the love sick fool, after all.

Groggily, Richie rolled onto his back and groaned as his eyes opened just a crack to glare at the sunlight peeping through the curtain He really thought he'd closed those last night in preparation for this morning. OK, so it really couldn't still be considered 'morning' if the sun was high enough to be condemning him through the curtains.
He sat up on the side of the bed, debating if he was only getting up to close the curtain then crawl back into the welcoming embrace of the down comforter, or if he was getting up for real.
The smell of fresh brewed coffee made the decision for him. God love Kidd for his caffeine addiction and coffee making skills!
When he shuffled through the family room, he noticed Jon sitting in his favorite chair with his feet up on the coffee table and his laptop open on his lap. He continued on into the kitchen, grinning at the thought of Dorothea's tantrum if she could see Jon's feet propped on that glass and metal monstrosity of a coffee table. He called out, "I could almost kiss your ugly mug, Kidd." He didn't have to be able to see Jon to be able to grin at the wince he was sure came immediately after that hated nickname. It really surprised him that Jon had told the people on the football forum to call him Kidd... voluntarily.
From the family room, he heard the front man grumbling something that sounded remotely like, "and you can just fuck off and die," but he wasn't sure. He chuckled softly as he poured the steaming nectar of the gods into his favorite coffee mug... the one that said 'I'm a great guy once you get to blow me'.
Then from the other room, Jon called out, "Hey, Rich?"
He stepped to the doorway. "Yeah?" he took a big swig of coffee.
"Goddess wants to know if you wanna make a friendly wager on the Pats/Giants game. She says if the Giants win she'll PM you the link to one of her raunchy stories, and if the Pats win, you have to consider meeting her and Lucy for drinks when she's in NJ in November," Jon tossed over his shoulder, knowing Richie was standing in the kitchen door without even looking.
"Tell her I said 'you're on'." Richie grinned; he loved a good football bet.
Jon quickly typed something then said, "Done."
"What's going on with the football ladies, today?" he asked casually as he got comfortable in the overstuffed chair across the coffee table from Jon.
Jon frowned slightly, but never took his eyes off the screen when he answered, "Not much really. The most exciting topic is yours and Goddess's bet. Are you sure you wanna agree to that? Maybe you shoulda had more coffee first."
Something was fishy in Soho. Kidd was typing up a storm, so either he was writing a tell-all book or he was lying about there being nothing going on in the virtual world. "Do you have anything planned for me today?" When he was in the city, he always ran his schedule past Jon...just in case. The two of them usually set aside time to write but sometimes it was spur of the moment. You never knew when inspiration might strike. And Jon could always have some publicity shit that he wanted Richie to attend with him. God, he really hoped not.
"Nope, nothing major. Taking a day off from the fuckin' press, got some Soul stuff... but nothing I need you for. Why?"
Richie smiled. Jon still hadn't looked up from the computer. Something was definitely up. Without saying another word, Richie stood up and went over to his laptop. It was right where he'd left it the night before, on the dining table. After booting it up, he quickly went to the football forum site; he'd saved it in his favorites several visits ago. Once he was logged in, he started scanning the posts.

He smiled at Lucy's posts. She seemed like such a nice woman. For not the first time, he caught himself wondering about her story. Really unsure why he was so curious about her, he shook his head and went back to reading the posts.

He sucked in a big gulp of air, then glanced up at Jon sitting across the open area from him, still typing away on his computer. No fucking wonder Boy Wonder didn't want him on the forum right now. He went on reading and couldn't help chuckling softly at Goddess's post.

He took a big swig of coffee, then almost choked on it when he read Kidd's next post.

Holy fuck! He jerked his head up to look over at Jon. And the dumb ass had suggested that HE needed more coffee before making a friendly wager on a football game?
Really?

He almost choked on his coffee again. He was almost afraid to read any more. Kidd better not give his phone number out to some strange woman on the internet!

Whew! That was a relief!
Quickly, he scanned down the page, until another Goddess post caught his eye.

Smitten kitten? Oh, this was good. Too good to pass up. He continued to read the posts virtually watching Kidd squirm as he tried to get them to quit calling him by the appalling moniker.
He grinned evilly as he typed up a response, and quickly hit 'send' .... only just stopping himself from laughing maniacally like some sort of bad horror flick villain.
